I know Citrix gets around this problem by using Terminal Services, however the technology we are using to deploy this environment doesn't use that feature. In this way the profile content for ArcGIS clients will move with them irregardless of which machine they end up launching their ArcGIS settings from. (For example, every user has a networked home directory V:\) Is there a way to change this setting so that these structures are created in a shared drive? Since ArcGIS clients default the user profiles to C:\Users\\AppData\Roaming\ESRI\Desktop10.X\, this results in the user having to rebuild their folder connections for ArcCatalog and Coordinate System Favorites for ArcMap. As the system is load balanced, there is never any guarantee they will land on the same machine they last used. We have deployed ArcGIS 10.1 on a series of identical Windows 7 machines with various other application software that our users need.ĭepending on the amount of activity and load, the users can launch ArcGIS as a service and get directed to one of 25 of these machines.
